DETROIT – Police are urging residents in Detroit’s Pembroke neighborhood to shelter in place after a woman barricaded herself inside a home Saturday evening.

Police said the situation began around 5:30 p.m. after they received reports that someone was pointing a gun at children near a home on Asbury Park near Pembroke.

When officers arrived, police said they surrounded the home and began trying to get the person inside to come out, but that has not happened.
