The White Sox are heavy favorites to repeat as American League Central champs, while the Tigers are hoping to at least compete for one of the (now three) AL wildcard spots.

Most national experts don’t expect Detroit to surpass a mid-70s win total, but fresh off a 77-85 season and an offseason of vast improvement, this team has its goals set much higher.
