Endangered Missing Advisory canceled for 5-week-old Michigan girl
ALBION, Mich. – Michigan State Police have canceled an Endangered Missing Advisory for a five-week-old girl missing from Albion. The girl has been found and is safe, police said Friday morning. When the advisory was issued earlier on Friday, police ssaid Jakayla Shibrea Atchison, 26, had failed to comply with a court order to surrender 5-week-old Samira Lynn Blackmon to Child Protective Services. Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon indicted, accused of defrauding ‘We Build the Wall’ donors
Steve Bannon, a former advisor to President Trump, and three other people have been indicted for an alleged scheme funneling money from the “We Build the Wall” fund. Bannon and three of his colleagues face the indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, New York. He worked as Trump’s White House chief strategist until his firing in August 2017. Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato, and Timothy Shea are the three others named in the indictment. Check back for updates.
Swimming advisories extended for parts of Lake Michigan
The National Weather Service has extended swimming advisories for parts of Lake Michigan as forecasters predict high waves and strong currents over the next two days. Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties in Indiana are under advisories. A 16-year-old boy went missing Sunday after he was pulled under the water in Portage, Indiana. The Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project on Sunday reported Lake Michigan had seen 32 drownings, and one of unknown condition, since Jan. 1, according to the newspaper.
