A New York man was sentenced to prison for trafficking exotic African cats -- some of which were the same breed as the ones that escaped from a home in Royal Oak last week, authorities said.

The owner of four African caracal cats has agreed to relocate the animals after they had escaped from her Oakland County property multiple times.

A Royal Woman was issued five tickets after four African caracal cats escaped from her home Wednesday.

Police said it was the third time the cats have escaped.

A large African caracal that escaped from its owner’s home in Royal Oak was located late Wednesday night near a garage on Altaneda Avenue.

The owner whose African caracal is currently on the loose in Royal Oak owns several of the cats, and they have escaped at least three times, police said.
