Ford aims to boost hiring of employees with autism
In 2016, Ford partnered with the Autism Alliance of Michigan to introduce the the Ford Works Program. The program focuses on hiring individuals -- like Ford IT business analyst Nick Howard -- who are on the autism spectrum. The Ford Works Program hires people differently by using a contract-to-hire method. โItโs quite satisfying to have a position Iโm comfortable with that uses my skill set,โ Howard said. Hereโs how Fredi the PizzaMan is helping with autism awareness
MELVINDALE, Mich. โ Fredi the PizzaMan is open for lunch every day down in Melvindale right at the corner of Allen Road and Clarence Street. He started a non-profit called Fredi the PizzaMan Foundation. Whatโs a sensory room? Dobrovic wrote a letter to Fredi the PizzaMan Foundation asking for a sensory room for her son and Tiffanyโs school and they were selected. Belloโs goal is to equip every school in Michigan with a sensory room.
