Woman shot, killed in middle of street on Detroitโs west side, police say
DETROIT โ Police said a woman was shot and killed in the middle of the street on Detroitโs west side. The shooting happened around 9:55 a.m. Tuesday (March 9) in the 9600 block of Braile Street at Orangelawn Street, which is near Rouge Park, according to authorities. Officials said when police arrived, the woman, who is about 26 years old, was still alive. She was rushed to the hospital, but pronounced dead when she arrived, according to police. At this time, nobody saw shots being fired, so these men would be considered persons of interest, Detroit police said.
Police car catches fire after crash in Detroit
DETROIT Two police officers were injured in a car crash on Friday night in Detroit. According to police at around 9:20 p.m. a white Nissan Pathfinder allegedly disregarded a stop sign at West Chicago and Braile Street, striking a scout car traveling east on West Chicago. Officials say the scout car lost control, hit a tree and caught fire. The unknown driver of the Nissan continued north on Braile Street, officials said. Detroit girl missing after running out of home with two boys from neighborhood
DETROIT - Police are searching for an 11-year-old girl named Alaya Wedlow, who was last seen at her home in the 9000 block of Braile Street in Detroit on Friday evening. According to police, Wedlow went missing at 6 p.m. Friday after running out of the house with two boys from the neighborhood. Wedlow is described as a black female and disappeared wearing a white T-shirt and pink shorts.
