Boil-water advisory issued in South Haven area after water-main break
SOUTH HAVEN, MI – A boil-water advisory is in effect Friday, Nov. 19, for parts of the South Haven area after a water-main break. The break happened Thursday night at Phoenix Street and Blue Star Highway, causing a drop in water pressure. The South Haven Area Water & Sewer Authority said the boil-water advisory is in effect until further notice. The authority is required to conduct bacteriological testing over the course of 72 hours before canceling the advisory. Farmington water main on Oakland Street to be shut down temporarily
The water main on Oakland Street between Gill Road and Wilmarth Avenue will be shut down Wednesday, Nov. 3, in order for the contractor to complete the final connection to the city’s water supply system, Farmington officials announced Tuesday.
Water main break leaves dozens without power in Downtown Detroit
DETROIT – A combination of heat and old infrastructure caused a Downtown Detroit road to buckle and a water main to break Saturday night. The water flooded the basement of the David Stott Building on Griswold Street, near Campus Martius, leaving dozens without power. It happened on Independence Day at about 10:30 p.m. A water main burst along Griswold Street between Michigan Avenue and State Street, flooding the intersection. Bedrock released the following statement:The Stott building is currently experiencing a power outage resulting from a water main break late Saturday evening. We are currently evaluating the extent of the damage and have reached out to all building residents as we assess necessary repairs.
