Consumer financial-hardship agreements slow but remain high

The father of two was shot and carjacked. It happened Sunday night around 8 p.m. at their home near Northwestern and Franklin. Police are still looking for the shooter.
Record early vote leads to tranquil Election Day at polls
About 103 million votes were cast before Election Day, an early voting push prompted by the pandemic. Every Election Day comes with problems as millions of people try to cast ballots simultaneously in 50 states. Those who did vote on Election Day included some who wanted to vote by mail but waited too long to request a ballot or didn’t receive their ballots in time. Anthony Medina, of Phoenix, who turned 18 four months ago, accompanied his cousin, who turned 18 on Election Day, to the polls Tuesday. “Given the difficulty election officials faced with Congress not giving them enough money, with all the disinformation and political fights — yes, I think today was an astounding success on all fronts,” McReynolds said.

Gas leak forces evacuations in Franklin
FRANKLIN, Mich. – A gas leak along Franklin Road has prompted evacuations at businesses and residences Tuesday morning. Police are calling the leak “major” and are asking drivers to avoid downtown Franklin Road for the next few hours. The road is shut down. Southfield police seek missing 88-year-old man with dementia
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Police are searching for a missing 88-year-old man last seen at about 5 p.m. Saturday. According to authorities, Robert Brunsden left an assisted living facility in Southfield and was last seen near the intersection of Franklin and 11 Mile roads. Police said Brunsden is very hard of hearing and has dementia. He was last seen wearing a beige jacket, jeans and dark shoes. Anyone who has information on Brunsden's whereabouts is asked to call the Southfield Police Department at 248-796-5500.
Hearing on Aretha Franklin's estate, handwritten wills set for Tuesday
DETROIT - A judge is expected to consider a request for a handwriting expert to examine wills discovered in couch cushions after Aretha Franklin's death. A hearing is scheduled Tuesday in Oakland County Probate Court, north of Detroit. A handwritten 2014 document shows Franklin apparently wanted her son, Kecalf Franklin, to serve as the representative of her estate, which might be worth millions. But lawyers for Franklin's estate have said "there is no basis" to believe Kecalf Franklin has those skills. Local 4 will be at the hearing and will update this story.
Aretha Franklin's $1.2 million Bloomfield Hills home hits market
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - If you're in the market for a new home and want to live like a queen, one of Aretha Franklin's homes inside a gated community in Bloomfield Hills just went on the market. The first thing you'll notice about the six-bedroom, 5 1/2-bathroom home is the red piano from Franklin's Detroit home. Down the hall is Franklin's bedroom, where she spent many nights when she wasn't on the road. Franklin's bedroom is complete with his and hers closets and an attached master bathroom finished with marble floors and a queen's throne. The home was not Franklin's primary residence, and she hadn't lived there in more than 20 years.
