Northern Michigan ski resort to add 6-person Bubble Chairlift for warm uphill rides
HARBOR SPRINGS, MI - A new kind of fast, innovative ski lift will break ground at The Highlands at Harbor Springs next year. The Camelot 6 will be the first six-person Bubble Chairlift in the Midwest - offering riders a 3-minute zippy trip up the slopes enclosed in a heated, weatherproof bubble that has extra-wide seats and individual footrests. The new Doppelmayr D-Line will be built on the southern end of the resort’s runs. When it debuts - expected for the 2023/24 season - Camelot 6 will replace three current triple-place lifts: Camelot, Valley and MacGully. Eventually, it will be the primary lift serving the summer chairlift rides and allow The Highland’s mountain biking to expand lift operations.

TRAVERSE CITY, MICH. -- A rehabilitated bald eagle is ready to fly free once again — and the public is invited to watch her return to the wild. Skegemog Raptor Center, a Traverse City-based nonprofit raptor rehabilitation facility, is publicly releasing a juvenile bald eagle back into its natural habitat this Saturday, Oct. 23 at Samels Farm education center in Williamsburg. “This is a good way to educate the public about some of the hazards these birds face,” said James Manley, Skegemog Raptor Center’s executive director. Still in its first year of operation, Skegemog Raptor Center has taken in more than 60 birds so far — and most of its patients have similar stories to this young bald eagle.
