HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Efforts to vaccinate citizens against COVID-19 are underway in Highland Park. Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp said people were supposed to be vaccinated at a Highland Park CVS, but the CVS has closed. According to a communications director with CVS, the Highland Park store did not renew its lease and closed on Jan. 2. We made the difficult business decision to not renew the lease for our Highland Park store and it closed on January 2. All employees at our Highland Park store who wanted to remain with CVS were transferred to one of our other locations.
Highland Park family pleads for answers after 67-year-old man killed
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. A family put out a public plea for help catching a killer. They said 67-year-old Jerry Black was just out for a walk when he was murdered. The person that did this is a coward.Police said Jerry Black was walking around his neighborhood, near Hamilton and West McNichols in Highland Park, when he was killed. Highland Park implements crime prevention program similar to Detroit's Project Green Light
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. - Highland Park businesses are getting cameras thanks to a crime prevention program similar to Detroit's Project Green Light. Businesses will be outfitted with cameras as part of the city's blue light program, which will be monitored in real-time. "We're actually going to have an element called virtual policing," said Charles Lackey, Highland Park's technology director. The program has already helped curb some vandalism at the Ford Recreation Center. "We're a small 2.9 mile city and our response times are small now, but they'll be even greater once we get this up and going," Mayor Hubert Yopp said.
