Gardner White opening at Saginaw’s former Art Van Furniture

SAGINAW, MI — Gardner White is opening at Saginaw County’s former Art Van Furniture store. Art Van closed all its company-owned stores after liquidation sales in the first quarter of 2020. Loves Furniture reopened some of those locations, including the Saginaw County store, but filed for bankruptcy less than six months later.

Value City Furniture store to open locations in Ann Arbor and Westland

ANN ARBOR, MI -- Two new Value City Furniture stores will be opening up in Ann Arbor and Westland, replacing the Loves Furniture stores after their company filed for bankruptcy less than six months after reopening former Art Van stores. These store openings are following a series of hiring events hosted by Value City Furniture, helping those who’ve recently lost their jobs at Loves Furniture stay employed. These new locations for Value City Furniture (VCF) will be featuring new concepts focused on Designer Looks, Alejandro Alvarez Correa, chief marketing officer, American Signature Inc., said in an email. Designer Looks offers high-end designer trends offered at affordable prices, and are built from the brand’s 125-year-old North Carolina workshop. Grand opening banners are still fluttering outside some Loves Furniture stores that are now slated for liquidation after the company filed for bankruptcy this week – less than six months after it began reopening former Art Van Furniture stores, the Detroit Free Press reports. It’s been less than a year since Art Van’s bankruptcy, which resulted in liquidation across all its stores. Loves Furniture stores began opening in late summer 2020. Value City Furniture hiring for Ann Arbor location opening in March

Applicants are asked to bring several copies of their resume to the hiring event on Dec. 18. ANN ARBOR – Value City Furniture will be taking over two former Loves Furniture locations in Metro Detroit and is doing a push this week to hire 65 new positions. Value City Furniture will be hosting a hiring event on Dec. 18 in Novi, Michigan to fill the positions, which include assistant manager, sales manager, warehouse and home furnishing consultant. This year, Value City Furniture has taken over six new locations across the state of Michigan, all of which were former ArtVan stores. According to an announcement, Value City Furniture is committed to hiring former ArtVan and Love’s employees.

Loves Furniture Hiring in Michigan

CBS Detroit – After Art Van liquidated several stores and then filed for bankruptcy, Loves Furniture & Mattresses reopened 18 former Michigan Art Van locations. According to an article by MLive, Loves is looking to hire in over 100 positions across the state. Loves says it isn’t the typical commission-based furniture sales-model as Loves CEO Matt Damiani told MLive, “We are building a totally new customer experience rooted in personalized service. Loves is offering medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid time off, and an employee discount on furniture and merchandise. Loves Furniture and Mattresses is headquartered in Royal Oak, MI.

DETROIT – About two months after Art Van Furniture filed for bankruptcy and announced the closure of its store, 17 of the locations in Michigan will reopen as Loves Furniture branches. Officials from Loves Furniture made the announcement Tuesday, saying the company had acquired 27 total Art Van Furniture, Levin Furniture and Wolf Furniture locations across six states. “Today’s acquisition of these locations across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions represents a tremendous milestone for our company, our associates and for the communities that we serve,” Loves Furniture CEO Matthew Damiani said.
