ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions (6-7) could crawl within a half-game back of the final NFC wild-card spot with a win against the New York Jets in Week 15. The Lions entered the week with about 20% odds of making it, which is already on the rise after last night. The Athletic’s model lists the Lions with a whopping 53.5% to steal that final spot, pushing the Seahawks down to 42.9%. With a win over the Jets, they push the Lions to 40% from their current 25% odds. A loss drops the Lions to back to 10%, so a lot is riding on this trip to New Jersey.

The Detroit Lions have won five of their last six games, and that’s put them right on the edge of the playoff race.

With all the Week 14 games in the books, the Lions are projected to have Pick 4 via the Los Angeles Rams and Pick 15. That Rams (4-9) pick took a hit Thursday night, with quarterback Baker Mayfield working some magic on a game-winning 98-yard drive. Los Angeles could still catch the Chicago Bears (3-10) or the Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos, who are 3-10) in the order, though. Football Outsiders has the Texans with an 82.5% chance to land the top pick, with the Rams’ selection to the Lions rocking 46.2% odds to stick in the top five. Stroud at Pick 4, and then Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. at Pick 16.

I’m going to continue to be a dog and go out there and give it my all,” Davis said.

Kansas City and Tampa Bay have several starters, including some notable pass catchers, scheduled to become free agents next month. So the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Buccaneers will serve as a farewell for several players with their current team. Brown signed a one-year, $1.6 million contract with Tampa in late October and has been a model citizen since. He has 45 receptions for 623 yards and seven touchdowns after signing a one-year, $9 million deal. He turned 34 last month and might be willing to sign another one-year deal to stay in Tampa.
