Motown Museum reveals renderings for new community centered outdoor plaza
On Sunday, Detroit’s Motown Museum announced the beginning of phase two of its expansion, sharing updated renderings of the community-centered outdoor plaza designed to be the centerpiece of the second phase. Motown Museum Chairwoman and CEO Robin Terry made the announcement.

The “Parks and Recreation” and “Black Bear” actress has a deal with Viking Children's Books for “The Legend of the Christmas Witch." Viking, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers, announced Wednesday that Plaza worked on the book with her creative partner Dan Murphy and with illustrator Julia Iredale. “The Legend of the Christmas Witch,” in which Santa's sibling Kristtörn seeks a little understanding, is scheduled for Oct. 12.
Driver crashes through shopping plaza, into Andiamo restaurant in Bloomfield Township
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A woman driving on Telegraph Road crashed through a shopping plaza and into an Andiamo restaurant in Bloomfield Township, police said. An 87-year-old woman driving a Toyota Camry was in the median crossing from northbound Telegraph Road to the entrance of the Plaza shopping center, according to authorities. The Camry collided with a Ford Escape heading south on Telegraph Road, causing the Camry to crash through the shopping plaza, police said. Officials said the restaurant was closed at the time of the crash. Bloomfield Township officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
Vigil held after mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival
GILROY, Calif. - A community vigil was held Monday night in Gilroy to commemorate the lives lost after the mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The vigil was held at the Plaza between the Gilroy Library and Gilroy City Hall, where people showed support for those impacted and stood "Gilroy Strong". Guest speakers from the Gilroy Mayor Roland Velasco and Senator Bill Monning, both spoke about the tragedy and said this will make the community of Gilroy stronger. "We love Gilroy, it's a small town," said Tanya Luna of Gilroy. He said he felt the need to put the vigil together after hearing it had gone national.
