Itโs amazing how far the Detroit Tigers have come this season. After being by far the worst team in baseball the first five weeks, theyโre suddenly heading to Cleveland with a chance to take over second place in the division.

Los Angeles Angels fire former Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus after one season

"I want to thank Brad for his hard work and dedication to this organization over the last two seasons as both a special assistant and field manager," Angels general manager Billy Eppler said in a statement. Ausmus lasted just one season with the Angels, leading them to a 72-90 record and fourth place in the American League West Division. It was a difficult season for the Angels, highlighted by the death of starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs and a season-ending injury to potential MVP Mike Trout.

(CNN) - Cleveland Indians star shortstop Francisco Lindor is speaking out after another scary incident involving a fan hit by a foul ball. In the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals at Progressive Field in Cleveland, a Lindor line drive down the first base line went into the crowd and hit a young boy. "I encourage every MLB team to put the nets all the way down," Lindor said. That includes Progressive Field.
Detroit Tigers catch Baltimore Orioles in race for fewest wins in baseball

The two teams are now tied for the fewest wins in baseball, and they aren't even close to anyone else in the league.
