Lovell Street to close for construction in downtown Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, MI -- A stretch of West Lovell Street will be closed for a day due to construction in the area, the city of Kalamazoo said in a news release. Lovell Street between Burdick Street and Rose Street will be closed Saturday, March 18, for building work taking place in the area. Traffic will be detoured during the work. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians and are permitted for use by bicycles, the city said. KALAMAZOO, MI – A section of Paterson Street is closing for a day. Paterson Street between Rose and Burdick streets in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood will close Thursday, Jan. 19, the city of Kalamazoo said in a news release. Drivers will have a detour on Rose Street to North Street to Burdick Street, the release said. The sidewalks will stay open for pedestrians, plus bicycles will be allowed on the sidewalks during the closure. KALAMAZOO, -- The city of Kalamazoo is in the process of repairing water infrastructure and will shut off water for a portion of the city this week, requiring a boil water advisory to be sent to people in the area. Parker Avenue – From Westnedge Avenue (western boundary) to Rose Street (eastern boundary), both sides of the street. South Westnedge Avenue – Only to northeast corner and southeast corner Buchanan Avenue and South Westnedge Avenue and the northeast and southeast corner of Parker Avenue and South Westnedge Avenue. The advisory is precautionary only; there have not been any confirmed tests showing bacteria present in the water main at the location of the infrastructure repair, the city said. Municipal water customers in the affected area may use bottled water for consumptive purposes or boil their tap water for 2 minutes prior to use for drinking or other ingestion.
