Slowing down drivers is what’s happening outside Roseville Middle School, where Julia Wallace was hit in the crosswalk while walking to school. Roseville Police Chief Ryan Monroe says that a significant safety change has been implemented.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting. The male officer’s body cam footage shows him approach the scene and ask who was driving the Silverado. After turning to look at Robles, the video shows that the officer notices a knife in Robles’ hand and orders Robles to drop it while the officer is backing away from Robles. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office says nine total shots were fired in the incident, all from the male officer’s weapon. The first shot was fired 15 seconds after the male officer arrived on the scene.

Authorities provided an update Wednesday morning after a man was shot and killed by Roseville police Tuesday following a car crash.
