Asked how much first base he would play in 2022, Cabrera responded with a smile, “I don’t know, because we want Torkelson in the lineup.

If Tork is on the roster, Cabrera still might get a start at first base from time to time, but his primary duty would be as the designated hitter.
Cabrera, who reached 500 home runs last season and enters 2022 only 13 hits shy of 3,000, seemed OK with that.
