Police seek 4 in connection with violent carjacking on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Police are looking for public assistance in identifying four people wanted in connection with a March 3 assault and carjacking on Detroit’s west side. As the victim followed her two men exit the Honda, assault the man and take his car keys. Police said the woman entered the Honda and one of the suspects enters for Ford and both vehicles fled the scene. Detroit police Chief James Craig speaks out on recent accidental shootings involving children
DETROIT – For the second time in the span of a week, a child in Detroit found an unsecured gun in a home and accidentally pulled the trigger. “We’ve seen tragedy after tragedy. It’s too many stories like this,” Detroit police Chief James Craig said. “Another tragic situation where another gun owner falls asleep with a gun,” Craig said. “If you’re a gun owner and you invite guests to your home and there’s children or adults that you may not want to have access -- you need to secure the weapons.

DETROIT – Police said an 18-month-old found a gun and shot and killed a 5-year-old in Detroit. “It’s a sad day in the city today. We lost another child in the city due to a lack of firearm safety. Police were called to a home in Detroit at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday regarding an incident where a child shot another child. Police said they believe the 18-month-old got ahold of an unsecured weapon and accidentally shot the 5-year-old.
