New Orleans Saints considering home games, with fans, at LSU
The Saints aren’t allowed to have fans at their home stadium in New Orleans. ESPN reported on Tuesday that the NFL franchise has had discussions with a college program, LSU, about playing upcoming home games at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tiger Stadium was a quarter full for LSU’s lone home game so far this season, with 21,124 fans in attendance. Baton Rouge mayor Sharon Weston Broome told ESPN she would welcome the Saints at Tiger Stadium. "Should they choose to come, the Saints and Saints fans will be required to adhere to the same guidelines put in place for college football games -- social distancing with 25 percent occupancy, required masks, and no tailgating,'' Broome said.

"We have also discussed the possibility of moving our home games to LSU with the NFL and they are aware of our exploring this option. The Saints have played three of eight scheduled regular season home games in the Superdome so far this season with no ticketed fans in attendance. "There’s been no indication that NFL games with fans are having an impact on daily COVID case trends at the local or state level,” McCarthy said. Broome said she'd welcome the Saints playing with fans in Tiger Stadium — with conditions. That season, the Saints were displace to San Antonio, which hosted three home games, while Tiger Stadium hosted four.
Writers to gather for annual book fair
The subject matter of the work being discussed runs the gamut from the blues to the history of Tiger Stadium. Seventeen local and regional authors are lined up for Sunday's Writers on the River. The 21st annual event has a diverse and wide-ranging roster, said Bill Reiser, Ellis Library & Reference Center manager. We are happy to welcome a number of first-time authors, like Tony Geftos and Phyllis Wilkins-Nims, said Reiser. Over the years, weve experimented with spotting the authors all over the library and with having short presentations by some of the authors.
