Applebee's franchisee bids to buy Pizza Hut's largest U.S. franchisee
NPC, which also operates Wendy's locations, said Friday that it has agreed to accept the bid and will seek approval from the bankruptcy court. The deal would give Flynn, the largest restaurant franchisee in the United States, control of NPC's 1,300 Pizza Hut and Wendy's restaurants and its shared services assets. Pizza Hut and Taco Bell are both owned by Yum Brands. Because of the number of locations up for sale, the outcome of the auction could have a drastic impact on Pizza Hut and Wendy's U.S. businesses. McDonald's next move may depend on one fast-food rival's stock
Wendy's stock chart could forecast a lot for shares of McDonald's, MKM Partners chief market technician JC O'Hara told CNBC's "Trading Nation" on Wednesday. "If you look at Wendy's, the stock declined over 70% from its February highs to its March lows," he said. That recovery brought Wendy's out of a trading range from $12.50 to $15.50, which has now become an area of support for the stock, O'Hara said. Man breaks in to rob a Florida Wendy's, makes himself dinner first
CNN image(CNN) - He's the "modern day Hamburglar," police say, and he was caught on camera making himself a burger before robbing a Florida Wendy's. Patrick Benson, 34, was arrested Saturday and charged with burglary, grand theft and attempted burglary, according to a news release from the Martin County Sheriff's Office. Security footage at the Jensen Beach restaurant appears to catch Benson in the act and also reveals a strange part of his process. "The suspect has been successful at forcing his way into two restaurants cooking himself some dinner -- then stealing what he can't consume," the sheriff's office said Friday. Images from security footage brought in many tips on the identity of the man dubbed the Hamburglar, the office said.
