A federal judge will allow Mississippi officials to move forward with creating a state-run court in part of the majority-Black capital city of Jackson.

A majority-Black Mississippi school district has received a judge’s approval to shed federal supervision in a desegregation lawsuit that dates back to 1965.

The White House is criticizing Texas’ operation to stop migrants along the U.S. border with Mexico after a state trooper told a supervisor that the mission has become inhumane.

A federal judge will decide whether to block Mississippi from using three drugs when it puts inmates to death.
