Suspect in 2001 Farmington Hills cold case murder arraigned, denied bond

Edgardo Luis Perez, 44, was arrested in Guatemala and extradited to the U.S. after nearly 25 years on the run, accused of murdering Farmington Hills resident Gordon Machek in 2001. Perez allegedly befriended Machek to steal his identity and money, and was linked to the crime through DNA evidence and fugitive-related materials found in his possession.
