Calmer weather coming for Memorial Day in Metro Detroit: What to know

More rain expected this week

A few showers will give way to breezy winds & clouds through most of Memorial Day on Monday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – Our Memorial Day begins with some morning showers hanging on from showers and thunderstorms the night before.

Showers should move out by around 8 a.m. for Southeast Michigan. The cloud cover will stick around for most of this Monday -- though I expect a few breaks in the clouds this afternoon and evening.

Expect mostly cloudy skies for most of the day. Highs will be in the mid-70s.

Tonight’s sunset is at 8:59 p.m.

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight. Temperatures will drop back into the 50s.

More rain chances Tuesday

Tuesday will begin with less cloud cover and some sunshine. There is a chance for rain showers and a few thunderstorms, though.

Some of our more northern counties may see showers in the morning on Tuesday, starting around 6 a.m. Those morning showers will start moving south into more of Metro Detroit around midday.

Scattered showers will continue through the day and night, and will last into Wednesday.

Highs Tuesday will be in the low 70s.

High temperatures cooler, in the 60s looking ahead into Wednesday before we warm back into the 70s for the end of next week.

The dry weather sticks around into the start of next weekend on Saturday, partly cloudy skies can be expected. High temperatures heading for the lower 80s before our next chance of rain moves into the region Saturday afternoon and evening.

Drier weather moves back into the region for the end of next weekend. Partly cloudy skies can be expected, high temperatures heading back into the lower 80s.
