4Warn Weather – Southeast Michigan is seeing gorgeous weather to start our Monday with mid-70s, a breezy southwest wind, and sunshine.
However, a cold front crossing through the region will bring chances for rain, and possibly strong storms, as we round out the day.
As of the 12:30 p.m. update, the Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the I-69 corridor and southward under a Marginal Risk (green), a level 1 out of 5. Most of Lenawee County and the southern half of Monroe County are under a Slight Risk (yellow), a level 2 out of 5.
Although these are lower chances for severe weather, isolated strong thunderstorms will be possible and you’ll want to make sure you have a way to get weather alerts - like the 4Warn Weather App, a weather radio, etc.
Storms look to develop this evening, around 7 p.m.
Rain and storm chances will continue through the evening into the late night with the best potential for severe storms winding down around midnight.
The main hazards with these storms will be hail up to 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 60 mph.
Scattered rain will continue overnight with temperatures falling to the upper 40s to low 50s.
On the backside of the cold front, winds shift to the northwest tomorrow morning, bringing in cooler air. Highs Tuesday will be near 60° with passing showers.
Highs Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be in the mid to upper 50s.
