Metro Detroit storms bring hail, high winds before conditions calm

A few severe storms brought high winds and large hail to the area earlier this evening.

Parts of Wayne, Macomb, and St. Clair counties saw the worst of it with several warnings issued just before 8 p.m.

Showers and non-severe thunderstorms will continue until about midnight.

There should be no effect on the morning commute.

Tuesday afternoon brings a chance of showers, but no severe weather is anticipated.

Much cooler air settles in over the next few days with highs only in the 50s.

Thursday night is our best chance for frost as lows dip into the 30s.
