After some sunshine, warm temperatures, and a few thunderstorms to start the weekend, we will keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms under the forecast, looking ahead into the end of the weekend as well.
We’re waking up to more heat and more humidity on Sunday morning, but as we watch a warm front lift north into the region over the next 48 hours, this will keep a chance of a few showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. These thunderstorm chances look to be confined along and north of I-94 on Sunday, where the Storm Prediction Center has placed a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) on our severe weather scale. We could see a few gusty thunderstorms Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening in our central and Northern communities. High temperatures and low mid-80s by Sunday afternoon.
Thunderstorm chances continue into the start of next week on Monday. We will see some sunshine to start the day, before chances of showers and thunderstorms roll by the afternoon and evening. It will be hot, and it will be humid to start the week as well. High temperatures warming into the upper 80s to near 90° by Monday afternoon. And some of those thunderstorms could be strong to severe once again.
The entire region is under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) on our severe weather scale, with portions of Northwestern Genesee and Northwestern Livingston counties under a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) on our severe weather scale. Gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and hail look to be the primary threats with any thunderstorm to start next week.
Then, a strong cold front will move into the region. By the time we get to Tuesday, we will keep the chances for showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. The entire region is under a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) severe weather scale. Once this cold moves through the region, we will keep a chance of rain showers in the forecast, looking ahead into the middle of the week on Wednesday. High temperatures remaining in the upper 80s by Tuesday, cooling off into the upper 60s by Wednesday.
Dry weather sticks around for the end of the week, and temperatures will warm up a little bit by Friday. We’re back into the 70s by the end of the week, with another chance of rain showers to start next weekend on Saturday, and temperatures remaining in the low 70s by Saturday afternoon.
