Dawson Compo also recently graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School and was taking his education even further. Fortunately, the family of five who lives in the home made it out safely, but the pilot of the plane and its two passengers were killed. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said the three people are believed to be the pilot and occupants of the plane. 2 people killed when plane crashes in western Michigan

The Ottawa County sheriff's office responded around 6:30 a.m. to an area near Ottawa Executive Airport in Zeeland Township. The victims were identified as Dale DeWeese, 61, and Joyce DeWeese, 59, of Zeeland. They were flying a 2006 Byerley RV9A, authorities said. Local authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration were investigating.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said, "Undoubtedly, the priority for Ukraine is to identify the causes of the plane crash.
