How pets can help improve mental health

Our fur babies can offer more than just cuddles

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and you may not know this, but experts say pets can play a huge part in benefiting your mental health.

“There are so many ways. For example, if you have a dog, the physical aspect of it, they get you out, they’re walking,” said Ann-Marie Chamberlain, with Michigan Humane.

She said pets can also make you feel less lonely, can get you socializing, and can increase stability by making things routine.

There are plenty of pets in need of adoption and ready to provide their humans with love and compassion, something that may be key to improving mental health.

Chamberlain brought a 3 year old black, short hair cat with her named Brodhi, who’s in need of a home. The Mike Morse Law Firm will pay standard adoption fees for anyone interested in adopting todays pet of the week.
