A 3-year-old beagle-bulldog mix named Lady is looking for a forever home, and the Mike Morse Law Firm is making it easier to say yes - by covering the standard costs of adoption for whoever takes her in.
Lady was featured as the Pet of the Week on Live in the D, where Michigan Humane representative Brittany Brodacki introduced the compact, bright-eyed pup to viewers across metro Detroit.
“She is a 3-year-old beagle bulldog mix,” Brodacki said. “As you can see with her little underbite, she has a little bit of the beagle coloring. She’s amazing.”
Lady’s appearance comes just ahead of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on April 30, an annual observance spotlighting the millions of animals in shelters across the country waiting for permanent homes.
Brodacki said the day carries real significance for shelter animals. “That’s why we think National Adopt-a-Shelter Dog Day is very important to shed a little extra light on these beautiful animals,” she said.
For those not quite ready to commit to adoption, Michigan Humane offers fostering as an alternative path. Brodacki described the process as a temporary but meaningful commitment.
“Fostering will look like an animal like this - you can take them into your home, and that’s just the committed time frame of where you’re taking care of them so that maybe they do have an extra little leeway time before they get adopted,” she said.
Brodacki noted that there are multiple ways the public can get involved beyond adoption. “We believe that she is a beagle bulldog mix, just from the facial features and her coloring. And she’s a sniffer - she loves to sniff around,” she said of Lady, adding that volunteering and donating through Michigan Humane’s website are also impactful options.
