DETROIT – The Underground Railroad -- dangerous path to freedom for slaves -- ran through Metro Detroit before heading into Canada.

Here’s a look at some Detroiters who played big roles in the Underground Railroad and the historic sites in the city, as well as across the Detroit River in Canada, that you may not have ever noticed.
