LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – A man driving a truck on northbound I-75 says someone in another vehicle fired shots at him Wednesday morning.

Michigan State Police say that at around 7:45 a.m. on July 27, a man reported driving north on I-75 in a construction zone when a dark sedan merged behind the man’s truck and continued driving behind him. When the sedan exited I-75 at Dix Highway, the truck driver heard “two large pops,” police said.

The man’s truck was reportedly struck by two bullets in the passenger door. It does not appear that the man was injured in the incident.

It is unclear what led to the shooting, or if this is a road rage incident.

Officials say the truck has been taken to be processed by authorities. Troopers were looking for bullet casings on the I-75 exit ramp Wednesday morning.

A photo of the truck involved can be found above.

Police say they do not have a description of the suspect vehicle or suspected shooter at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
