As the esteemed Grand Marshal, Robinson will play a pivotal role in the pre-race ceremonies, a testament to his profound impact and his illustrious career. This tribute will precede the thrilling race of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES on the street circuit in downtown Detroit.

Robinson is a living testament to the global resonance of the Motown sound. Known as the “King of Motown,” Robinson was essential to the success of Berry Gordy’s Motown Records, located in the heart of Detroit.

As lead singer of The Miracles, Robinson recorded Motown’s first million-selling hit in 1960 with “Shop Around.”

Robinson’s immense talent as a songwriter and producer was instrumental in catapulting other Motown artists like The Temptations and Marvin Gaye to stardom. His solo career was equally remarkable, with chart-topping hits such as “Just to See Her” and “Cruisin’.” Those achievements are a testament to his enduring influence on the music industry.
