Macomb County man convicted of murdering his girlfriend, mother of his child

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 25-year-old man from Clinton Township has been convicted of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend.

According to authorities, 23-year-old Tianna Ross was shot multiple times in January 2024 when she arrived at Jaion Barnes’ home to deliver their child to him.

Barnes would eventually turn himself in to the police.

On Thursday, Feb. 5, a Macomb County jury convicted Barnes of second-degree murder, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and domestic violence.

He remains in custody at the Macomb County Jail and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 26.
