Flint man sentenced in bank robbery outside Somerset Collection in Troy No-contest plea leads to years behind bars for Flint man

TROY, Mich. – A Flint man will spend years in jail after robbing a bank just outside the Somerset Collection in Troy.
The robbery happened on Oct. 21 at the Fifth Third Bank on Big Beaver Road.
Jaquan Coreyonteliace Burks-Burnett reportedly entered the bank with a mask and demanded money from two tellers before leaving with cash.
Witnesses said they saw Burks-Burnett walk over to the Somerset mall parking lot after the robbery and leave in his car, which didn’t have a license plate on it.
He was arrested shortly after and charged with bank robbery .
Burks-Burnett pleaded no contest to the felony charge on Feb. 10 and was sentenced Tuesday, March 24, to 3 and a half to 20 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections.
