Michigan gas station accused of price gouging, allegedly charged $1 more than other stores
PLYMOUTH, MI – A Michigan gas station is accused of price gouging last week when its prices for unleaded and premium gasoline were nearly $1 higher than competitors. An investigator from the attorney general’s office visited the gas station the following day. Representatives of the gas station were asked to show justification for the prices based on base cost for the fuel but did not provide that evidence. The alleged price gouging came amid national fears about high gas prices related to the recent hack of the Colonial Pipeline, which did not directly impact Michigan gasoline supply. The gas station has 10 days to respond to the notice.mlive.com
