Family of Detroit man paralyzed in shooting asks community for help
DETROIT – A local family is hoping the community can help Detroit police make an arrest in a shooting that left a man paralyzed. The family said the shooting happened on Oct. 10 when the two men got into some type of altercation. The suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the man and then got into a car and drove off. It happened in the driveway of a home, on the same day the family was celebrating a wedding. He was shot in front of all three of my children, in fact, as well as my neighbor’s children,” Turk said.
Man dies after crashing into parked car on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – A 46-year-old man was killed Sunday night when he crashed into the back of a parked car on Detroit’s west side, police said. The crash happened at 9:26 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Fitzpatrick and Ashton avenues, according to authorities. Police said the man was driving a Cadillac Escalade southeast on Fitzpatrick Avenue when he crashed into the back of a car that was parked on the road. That car hit another vehicle in front of it, officials said. The 46-year-old man died from his injuries, police said.
