Medical issue may have caused fatal St. Clair County crash, officials said
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, MI – Investigators believe a medical-related issue caused a single-vehicle crash that killed a 76-year-old Richmond man Monday afternoon. St. Clair County Central Dispatch received a 911 call of a vehicle driving erratically while northbound on M-25, south of Metcalf Road, in Burtchville Township, shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 25. As St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputies drove toward the area, more calls came in reporting that the vehicle was crossing over the centerline of the road. Deputies investigating at the scene believe a medical-related issue caused the crash, which remains under investigation. St. Clair County Road Commission and DTE Energy also assisted at the scene of the crash.mlive.com
Woman killed in 3-vehicle crash near Port Huron
BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI — A woman was killed Thursday morning in a multiple vehicle crash in St. Clair County. Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched after 10 a.m. Thursday. Initial investigation showed that a 57-year-old Goodells man was traveling north on M-25, and waiting to turn into a driveway, according to a Facebook post from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office. The Lexington woman was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Burtchville Township Fire and Rescue, Fort Gratiot Township Fire and Rescue and the St. Clair County Road Commission all assisted at the scene of the crash.mlive.com
19-year-old dies in St. Clair County crash after attempting to pass semi-tractor trailer
BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI -- A 19-year-old man died Thursday morning in a St. Clair County crash after colliding head-on with a semi-tractor trailer while attempting to pass another semi-tractor trailer, police said. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Lapeer Post were dispatched at approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, to M-25 near Manning Road for a traffic crash. The preliminary investigation indicated a northbound 2007 Audi A6 was passing a semi-tractor trailer when it struck a southbound semi-tractor trailer head-on, according to an MSP news release. The driver of the 2007 Audi, Braeden Melms, 19, of Avoca, died as a result of the head crash, police said. Michigan State Police was assisted at the scene by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Burtchville Township Fire and Tri-Hospital EMS.mlive.com
Two 21-year-old men charged after stabbing in Port Huron
PORT HURON, Mich. – Two 21-year-old men have been charged after an argument over a vehicle led to the stabbing of a 37-year-old man in Port Huron, officials said. Port Huron police said a 37-year-old Burtchville Township man arrived at the Lake Huron Medical Center at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 24). He told police that he had gotten into an argument with Devin Michael Convery, 21, of Port Huron, in the 1600 block of Jay Street, according to authorities. Convery’s friend, Joshua Davis Schreibman, 21, from Madison Heights, got involved in the argument and stabbed the 37-year-old man multiple times, police said. He was arrested there by officers from the Madison Heights Police Department and transported to the St. Clair County Intervention Center, officials said.
1 dead, 2 seriously injured after 3-vehicle crash in St. Clair County
BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI -- The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a three-vehicle crash that left one man dead and two people hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Burtchville Township is about 12 miles north of Port Huron in St. Clair County. The collision then caused a second collision with the northbound pick-up pulling the trailer, according to the release. The St. Clair County Accident Investigation Team is continuing the investigation. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol and sheriff’s officer investigative division were assisted at the scene by Tri Hospital EMS, the Burtchville Township Fire Department and the St. Clair County Road Commission.mlive.com

1 dead, 2 stabbed during alleged ‘drug deal gone wrong’ in Port Huron Township, police say
PORT HURON CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating what is believed to be a drug deal gone bad in Port Huron Charter Township early Wednesday morning. One person is dead and two others suffered stab wounds during the incident, officials said. The Port Huron Charter Township man provided information regarding the assault to officers and was then transported to the hospital. Port Huron police identified and stopped a vehicle in connection with the incident at about 4:30 a.m., officials said. A 21-year-old Washington Township man was also in the car and suffered from lacerations.
Police: 2 killed, 2 injured in crash on icy bridge in St. Clair County
BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two people were killed and two others were injured Thursday in a crash on an icy bridge in St. Clair County, police said. A 30-year-old Burtchville Township woman was driving a 2004 GMC pickup truck north on M-25 with a 38-year-old Burtchville Township man as a passenger, according to authorities. The Lexington man and the Fort Gratiot Township man were taken to McLaren Port Huron Hospital by Tri-Hospital EMS, police said. Burtchville Township officials are investigating the crash. M-25 was shut down for about 2 1/2 hours after the crash, officials said.
