Bank robber armed with box-cutter arrested
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI – A man armed with a “box-cutter style knife” is in police custody after allegedly attempting to rob a bank in southeast Michigan. The would-be bank robbery occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Citizens Bank on 14 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, according to a news release from the Sterling Heights Police Department. Police were alerted to the situation by a 911 caller who was inside the bank. The caller reported that the white male suspect was armed with a “box-cutter style knife” and was taking money from cashiers’ drawers, police said. Sterling Heights Police officers were on the scene within minutes of the call and took the suspect into custody, police said.mlive.com

Police investigating Fifth Third Bank robbery in Chesterfield Township
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police are investigating after a Fifth Third Bank in Chesterfield Township was robbed Wednesday at 2:35 p.m.Police said the robber fled the bank on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The Chesterfield Township Police Department used a K-9 unit to search the area for the suspect, but was not successful. The police department's detective bureau and the FBI are investigating this robbery and a previous bank robbery that occurred in Chesterfield Township at a Citizens Bank on Oct. 2.
