A new interactive exhibit has opened up in metro Detroit and it will have you digging for gold. The Cranbrook Institute of Science has family’s on the hunt for buried treasure this summer. Today on “Live In The D”, host Jason Carr was joined by the Anthropology Coordinator and Museum Educator, Cameron Wood, to talk about what to expect at a new exhibit.
Cranbrook alerts alumni of sexual misconduct investigation
An email to the alumni of Cranbrook informed the school community of an ongoing investigation into accusations of sexual misconduct against a now-deceased faculty member who taught at the boy’s school from 1946 to 1961.The email says a male alumnus of the school from that time period alerted the school to the accusation.

Michigan swim clubs in limbo as pandemic limits access to indoor pools
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – Swimming is one of the safest athletic activities during the pandemic, but some who practice the sport feel stuck. This situation has some local swim clubs left with very few options. While girls high school swimming just wrapped up, Michigan club teams swim all year round. Justine Murdock who swims for Atlantis swimming club never thought she would have trouble finding a place to practice. Her coach says swim practice is safe and socially distant but the problem is most pool club teams that practice in Michigan are in high schools which have been closed.

Are you ready to go on an adventure right outside your door? Palmero talked about the benefits of possums in nature. She said that possums move slow and are not that smart, but are beneficial to have in your yard. Possums are helpful to people and pet owners because they eat ticks; up to about 4,000 ticks in a week’s time. Watch the video to learn more about what’s in your backyard.
