A wind advisory is in effect for Southeastern Michigan once again on Friday, with strong wind gusts expected.

Dangerous wind gusts all across our region, but specifically felt at a gas station at Newburg and 5 mile in Livonia.

The Fire and Ice Festival scheduled to take place Saturday, Feb. 19, in Dearborn Heights has been canceled due to strong winds, officials said.

Following severe winds that caused tens of thousands of power outages across Michigan Saturday, utility company Consumers Energy says power should be restored to most by the end of Monday.

Widespread power outages caused by intense winds have prompted DTE Energy to call in hundreds of out-of-state crews to help restore power to Southeastern Michigan residents.

DETROIT – High winds blowing through southeast Michigan Sunday are causing power outages throughout the region. Wind advisories are in effect for 11 SE Michigan counties on Sunday afternoon. DETROIT – Storms have knocked out power to thousands in Southeast Michigan on Friday, and more bad weather is expected through the evening. As of 10:51 p.m., around 4,860 DTE Energy customers were without power. DTE reported 78 crews in the field. A Flood Warning is in effect for Wayne County, Eastern Oakland County and Macomb County until 4 p.m. on Friday. We are under a Slight Risk for Severe Storms today, and that will be most likely through the late afternoon and evening.

DETROIT – High winds were howling in Southeast Michigan on Monday -- and it meant power outages in some areas. DTE Energy says they’re preparing for possible outages in the area on Monday, with extra crews on standby.
