Michigan men fall short vs. North Carolina in feisty matchup
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Michigan basketball could not make it a sweep over North Carolina in the inaugural Jumpman Invitational. The Michigan women beat North Carolina 76-68 the night before in the same building, Charlotte’s Spectrum Center, as part of the two-night, four-school, eight-team event. North Carolina used that time to turn a five-point deficit into a seven-point halftime lead, and never looked back. After Bacot’s basket over Dickinson with 8:16 to go in the half, North Carolina coach Hubert Davis was apoplectic, apparently wanting something called on Dickinson. Bacot’s and-one, with the free throw, put North Carolina ahead 31-30 with 4:09 left and started a 10-0 run.
