DETROIT – An 18-year-old man turned himself in to police in connection with the fatal shooting of two sisters Friday on Detroit’s east side. Police said the man was wanted in connection with a fatal double-shooting at a home on Lantz Street, near John R. Street, just south of State Fair Avenue. Family in ‘complete shock’ after fatal double-shooting, Detroit police seek 18-year-old suspect
DETROIT – Police are searching for an 18-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting of two women Friday on Detroit’s east side. Police said the victims -- 21-year-old Shaniya Todd and 18-year-old Shakiya Todd -- were sisters and were killed when a fight turned into a shooting. They said they’re upset and confused, but hopeful that the information police released on the suspect could lead to an arrest. Police released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a Dec. 18, 2020 fatal shooting. Police said he shot and killed Shakiya Todd and her older sister, Shaniya Todd, who also is a young mother.

Maple Road to close for I-75 bridge work Friday
TROY, Mich. Maple Road under I-75 will be closed Friday night for bridge work. Maple Road will be closed in both directions beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and is expected to reopen by 9 a.m. Saturday as crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) work on the bridge above. Eastbound traffic will be rerouted to Stephenson Highway, Big Beaver and John R. roads. Westbound Maple Road traffic will be directed to John R., Big Beaver and Rochester roads. MDOT says I-75 traffic should not be impacted.
