Kerby Joseph, Josh Reynolds return to Lions practice; still no Frank Ragnow
ALLEN PARK -- Kerby Joseph has returned to a Detroit Lions defense that badly needs him on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. With fellow safeties Tracy Walker (Achilles) and DeShon Elliott (shoulder) also out with injuries, Detroit is razor-thin at the position heading into a game against Justin Fields and that top-ranked rushing attack. Joseph returned to work on Thursday, offering some hope the rookie will be able to play against Chicago. Receiver Josh Reynolds (illness), special teams star Josh Woods (illness) and guard Logan Stenberg (illness) also returned to work, while Elliott, center Frank Ragnow (foot) and Kayode Awosika (ankle) were unavailable. Elliott is considered day-to-day with his shoulder injury.
mlive.comDetroit Lions without both starting safeties, Frank Ragnow at practice
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions were without a handful of players at their first practice of the week, including starters Josh Reynolds, Frank Ragnow, DeShon Elliott and Kerby Joseph. The Pro Bowl center has managed a foot injury all season and missed the first two practices last week before playing through the injury and questionable designation. Joseph and Reynolds weren’t on last week’s injury report. The Lions were also without offensive guard Logan Stenberg, and linebacker and special teams ace Josh Woods at Wednesday’s practice. mlive.comThe Lions are winning, healthy, and expected to get even healthier vs Vikings
They’re also finally getting healthy. When they continue their playoff push next week against the division-leading Minnesota Vikings, they should be even healthier yet with the anticipated return of pass rusher Romeo Okwara. “It’s very nice (to finally get healthy),” head coach Dan Campbell said after the 40-14 win against Jacksonville. Look man, I like this team.”The Lions have welcomed back players like receiver DJ Chark, receiver Josh Reynolds, receiver Jameson Williams, cornerback Jeff Okudah, guard Jonah Jackson and pass rusher Josh Paschal in recent weeks. But he went down before he really got going last year, rupturing his Achilles in a Week 4 game in Chicago.
mlive.comLions activate WR Josh Reynolds for Thanksgiving showdown against Bills
DETROIT -- Jameson Williams won’t play on Thanksgiving. The Lions have activated Josh Reynolds for their Turkey Day showdown against the Bills at Ford Field. Now Chark and Reynolds are both back on the outside, with St. Brown doing his thing in the slot. The first-round pick began practicing this week, ran routes at Ford Field during warmups on Thanksgiving, and should return a week or two after Thanksgiving. Cornerback Jeff Okudah (brain) and defensive linemen Charles Harris (groin), Josh Paschal (knee) and Michael Brockers (benched) also will not play.
mlive.comLions without all 3 interior offensive linemen as they kick off Thanksgiving week
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions’ offensive line is in rough shape heading into the short week. Center Frank Ragnow (toe) and guards Evan Brown (ankle) and Jonah Jackson (illness) were all listed as “out” on an estimated injury report that was issued Monday. Detroit did not actually practice, but had to file a report anyway with the Thanksgiving matchup against Buffalo looming just three days away. Cornerback Jeff Okuidah (brain), defensive end Charles Harris (groin), pass rusher Josh Paschal (knee) and receiver Josh Reynolds (back) also were “out” according to the report. Whether he’s close enough to actually make it back on the short week remains very much to be seen.

mlive.comLions WR DJ Chark activated from injured reserve
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Josh Reynolds won’t play in New York, but help is finally on the way for the Detroit Lions’ banged-up receiver corps. DJ Chark has been activated from injured reserve and is expected to play on Sunday against the Giants. He’s missed the last six games because of more problems with his surgically repaired ankle, a frustrating setback for the club’s top free-agent signing. Chark’s return will provide a boost to an offense that has been threadbare on the perimeter for weeks. That forced the Lions to turn to smaller wideouts like Kalif Raymond and Tom Kennedy for outside looks in recent weeks.
mlive.comJosh Reynolds ruled out by Lions before flight to New York
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Detroit Lions have ruled out wide receiver Josh Reynolds before their flight to New York to face the Giants. Reynolds hasn’t played since his back locked up at a practice three weeks ago. He did return to practice on Thursday, but couldn’t go on Friday and was officially listed as questionable for the game. “Very (frustrating),” Reynolds said this week. DJ Chark is a candidate to come off injured reserve today after missing the last six weeks with an ankle injury.
mlive.comLions’ Frank Ragnow expected to play against Giants; Charles Harris hurt again
ALLEN PARK -- While the Detroit Lions are playing the waiting game with injured wideouts DJ Chark and Josh Reynolds, they are already confident they’ll have All-Pro center Frank Ragnow for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. We are, yep.”After some hard injury luck to open the season, the Lions are inching toward a better place. D’Andre Swift came off the injury report last week (although remained a secondary option in the offense) before Chark and Reynolds both returned to practice this week. Chark has missed the last six games with ankle trouble, while Reynolds has missed the last two games after his back locked up during practice. “He’s gotten a little bit better every day, but there again, it’s kind of wait and see with him,” Campbell said.
mlive.com‘Sky’s the limit’ for Lions offense as Josh Reynolds, DJ Chark near return
ALLEN PARK -- Kalif Raymond has done some nice things for the Detroit Lions, especially on special teams. But there’s a reason the Lions gave DJ Chark a fully-guaranteed $10 million to come to Detroit for the season. Reynolds and Chark both returned to practice this week after missing a combined eight games because of injuries. That’s why the Lions claimed Reynolds in the first place, then went after Chark in free agency and Williams in the draft. Chark should be on a similar timeline, while Williams is on track to begin practicing after the Turkey Day game.
mlive.comRookie LB Malcolm Rodriguez ruled out by Lions, Derrick Barnes expected to start
The Detroit Lions have ruled out rookie linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez for their game on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Rodriguez was listed as questionable to play because of an elbow injury he suffered early in last week’s win against Green Bay. Having your starting inside linebacker would be helpful in a matchup like this. The good news is Derrick Barnes, who is expected to replace Rodriguez in the starting lineup, is coming off the best game of his career. It was good to see him out there running around.”Now it seems Barnes will get to run around even more at Soldier Field.
mlive.comMalcolm Rodriguez, Kerby Joseph questionable for Lions; D’Andre Swift full-go
ALLEN PARK -- For the first time in a long time, the injury report is mostly good news for the Detroit Lions. Yes, Josh Reynolds has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, and that’s a blow for an offense that remains without fellow outside receivers DJ Chark (ankle), Jameson Williams (ACL) and Quintez Cephus (foot). The Lions could be forced to turn to slot receivers like Tom Kennedy and Kalif Raymond for another start on the outside, or perhaps the recently re-signed Trinity Benson. Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez (elbow), safety Kerby Joseph (brain), safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle), cornerback Chase Lucas (ankle) and offensive tackle Matt Nelson (calf) are all listed as questionable to play in Chicago, while oft-injured running back D’Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder) isn’t listed with an injury designation at all. Head coach Dan Campbell said he’s optimistic Joseph will be able to play despite a suspected brain injury that limited him most of the practice week.
mlive.comStill no Josh Reynolds in Lions’ razor-thing receiver corps
Receiver Josh Reynolds missed a fourth straight practice on Thursday while dealing with a back injury that popped up last week. He didn’t play in the win against the Packers, and now seems unlikely to play on Sunday against the Chicago Bears too. Chark is eligible to return from injured reserve next week, although it remains unclear whether he’ll do so. Head coach Dan Campbel said Williams turned a corner almost two months ago, yet he still hasn’t laced up his cleats. That left Reynolds as the only player on the 53 not practicing.
mlive.comRodgers throws 3 INTs, Lions hold on to beat Packers 15-9
Aaron Rodgers matched a career high with three interceptions and threw an incomplete pass on fourth down from the Detroit 17 in the final minute, letting the Detroit Lions hold on for a 15-9 win over the Packers in a matchup of slumping teams on Sunday.
How to watch Lions vs. Packers: Live stream, TV channel, kickoff time

mlive.comShort-handed Lions sign 1 player from practice squad, elevate 2 others
DETROIT -- With their top four outside receivers slowed by injuries and their top tight end now in Minnesota, the Lions are getting some reinforcements from their practice squad. The Lions announced on Saturday they’re signing receiver Stanely Berryhill from the practice squad, while elevating receiver Brandon Zylstra and tight end Shane Zylstra. Both Zylsetras -- yes, they’re brothers -- will revert back to the practice squad after the game. That leaves slot receivers like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kalif Raymond and Tom Kennedy as the only wideouts left on the roster. At tight end, the Lions need Shane Zylstra to add some depth after they traded T.J. Hockenson to the Minnesota Vikings this week.
mlive.comJosh Reynolds doubtful, D’Andre Swift questionable for Lions
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have listed Josh Reynolds as doubtful to play on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Reynolds is suffering from back pain that limited him at practice on Wednesday, then held him out the rest of the week. If Reynolds can’t go, the Lions will be without their top four outside receivers against the Packers. Detroit has ruled out cornerback Chase Lucas (ankle), slot A.J. Decker suffered his injury during the practice week and was limited on Thursday and Friday.
mlive.comD’Andre Swift expected to play for Lions; Josh Reynolds ‘off his feet’ with back
ALLEN PARK -- Two weeks ago, D’Andre Swift said he expected to play against Dallas. Head coach Dan Campbell said Swift came out of that game feeling better than ever. If you’re having trouble following that, well, welcome to the D’Andre Swift Experience. At any rate, the Lions say they do expect him to play on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. “We’re going to keep Reynolds off his feet today, and just see how he feels as the day goes and tomorrow, wake up, see where he’s at,” Campbell said.
mlive.comJosh Reynolds out with third injury; D’Andre Swift, Brock Wright back for Lions
“At this point, this is the best he’s felt in a while,” the Detroit Lions head coach said on Friday. “That helps.”Less than a week later, Reynolds is out with yet another injury. Reynolds was limited by a back injury on Wednesday, then didn’t participate in practice at all on Thursday. The good news is running back D’Andre Swift returned to practice after getting another off day while tending to ankle and shoulder injuries. Tight end Brock Wright also returned to practice on Thursday, which provides more depth at that position following the Hockenson trade.
mlive.comLions grades: Secondary no match for Dolphins WRs Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle
But penalties and missed chances down the stretch proved too much, with the offense failing to score across only three possessions in the second half. This group had few chances in the second half. The Lions had the ball only three times in the second half, and that ugly stretch doomed one of those possessions. Dolphins wideouts Tyreek Hill (12 catches for 188 yards) and Jaylen Waddle (eight catches, 106 yards and two touchdowns) were as dangerous as advertised. The first-year offensive coordinator didn’t see many chances in the second half, struggling to find a rhythm outside the final series.
mlive.comLions offense finally getting healthy, including D’Andre Swift, Amon-Ra St. Brown
ALLEN PARK -- D’Andre Swift has missed three games in a row, which certainly isn’t good for the reeling Detroit LIons. This week, for the first time since the opening week of the season, he’s been a full practice participant. With the Lions (1-5) trying to snap a league-worst four-game losing streak, they’re ready to finally welcome back their top running back. Just stuff we do every day with other running backs.”St. Brown is on track to play against Miami too. “I mean, those two guys can account for a lot of offense, alot of production in our offense.
mlive.comLions down 8 players at practice; WR Amon-Ra St. Brown in red no-contact jersey
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions were without eight players at Wednesday’s practice, with wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown participating in a red no-contact jersey. “Swift will practice today, and then Saint is moving right along,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said before practice. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said he cleared testing but was ruled out by the video evidence. St. Brown looked disoriented after taking the hit. “But it’s, he’s in the protocol just to go through the process of it,” the second-year head coach said on Monday.
mlive.comWR Josh Reynolds returns to Detroit Lions practice
ALLEN PARK -- Josh Reynolds returned to practice on Friday, giving him a shot to play when the Detroit Lions return from their bye on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Reynolds is the Lions’ leading receiver with 335 yards this season, despite playing through an ankle injury for the better part of a month. Then sustained in a knee injury in the shutout loss against New England two weeks ago, and was unavailable to practice when Detroit returned from the bye this week. But he squeezed in a limited day of practice as Detroit wrapped up preparations for the Cowboys on Friday, a huge lift for a team that remains without top free-agent receiver DJ Chark (ankle). And every day we’ll continue to check, the doctors and everything will continue to check and I talk with him.
mlive.comLions host 2 wide receivers for tryouts while others battle injuries
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions hosted wide receivers Stanley Berryhill and Antonio Nunn for tryouts, per Wednesday’s transaction wire. Detroit later added Berryhill to its practice squad after his workout. And with receivers DJ Chark and Josh Reynolds missing the first practice of the week with ankle injuries, that news shouldn’t surprise anyone. They have Maurice Alexander, Josh Johnson, Brandon Zylstra and Berryhill on the practice squad. Alexander has seen sporadic action on the offense and returning kickoffs as a practice squad elevation this year.
mlive.comLions place WR Quintez Cephus on injured reserve, sign 2 from practice squad
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions took another hit to their wide receiver depth, with Quintez Cephus (foot) landing on injured reserve. And Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) and Josh Reynolds (ankle) are questionable. Cephus got the start in last week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, catching two passes for 15 yards before the injury. St. Brown returned to practice to end the week, signaling that he’s going to try and play this weekend against the Patriots. But he lost that job to veteran Mike Hughes, landing on the practice squad out of training camp.
mlive.comLions down 8 offensive players at practice; K Austin Seibert, OL Jonah Jackson return
ALLEN PARK -- Dan Campbell said the Detroit Lions would be short-handed on offense at Wednesday’s practice, and the second-year head coach wasn’t kidding. “Chark feels a little bit better today. Swift is a little bit better. I would say everybody is a little bit better. St. Brown is a little bit better.
mlive.comDetroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks: 3 burning questions ahead of Week 4 game
DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions (1-2) face the Seattle Seahawks (1-2) with a chance to get back to .500 heading into their final game before the bye week. Williams was very strong in relief of Swift last week, running for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Rashaad Penny, who ran for 170 yards on the Lions last year, has only 141 yards on 32 carries. And I think he’s got great command of that huddle, and he’s picking up pressures, he’s seeing it, he’s re-IDing his completion percentage has been on point. It’s been a rough start to the season, with Oruwariye missing the Week 2 game due to a back injury.
mlive.comDetroit Lions trust their new-and-improved wide receiver depth if called upon
ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions could be counting on their new-and-improved wide receiver depth with injuries mounting all over the offense. Star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown’s status is very much in the air for this weekend’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. St. Brown missed Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury. Fellow receiver Josh Reynolds missed with an ankle injury, too. It’s also worth noting running back D’Andre Swift could miss some time with ankle and shoulder injuries.
mlive.comLions practicing without more than half their starting offense, 10 players in all
“But you just kind of play the odds, and who do we think has the best chance of playing? It seems St. Brown might fall into that bucket as well. So much of this offense flows through St. Brown these days, especially in got-to-have-it situations on third and fourth down, as well as in the red zone. “(Swift and St. Brown) are further away than Josh Reynolds is,” Campbell said. The same goes for Jackson, who has missed two games since injuring his finger during a Week 2 practice.
mlive.comLions grades: Dan Campbell’s inconsistent aggression dooms team in last-minute loss
The Detroit Lions (1-2) lost to the Minnesota Vikings (2-1) in the final minutes after blowing two double-digit leads in Week 3. This post will run through MLive’s grades for the team’s performance:Quarterbacks: Jared Goff had a clean day while playing with some banged-up offensive weapons. And he managed some good while running seven times for 31 yards, catching three passes for 15 yards. And it was another solid day on the ground, with the Lions running 35 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns. For those looking for the bright side, at least the Lions head coach sounds well aware of that after this loss.
mlive.comObservations: Lions QB Jared Goff hitting his stride with downfield passing
Breshad Perriman and Tyrell Williams, the 1-2 combination on the outside, combined for three catches and 14 yards all season. But Goff began to get something going downfield once Josh Reynolds was claimed off waivers last November. “Yeah, we got guys who can run, we got guys who can catch, we’re protecting well, and they’re running good routes,” Goff said. The Lions invested heavily in their wide receivers this offseason, and even with Williams still in street clothes, Goff is already finding a groove. I asked Jared Goff about how he handles it, having gone through “Hard Knocks” twice before in Los Angeles.
mlive.comDan Campbell buying stock in Lions WR Josh Reynolds: I call him the ‘praying mantis’
The lanky Detroit Lions wide receiver provided a vertical option that happened to have history with starting quarterback Jared Goff. Reynolds is someone that Lions head coach Dan Campbell is buying stock in ahead of the new season. He said Reynolds impressed him by handling the late-season addition and then showing up in camp ready to go. Campbell also has a handful of entertaining nicknames for the 27-year-old receiver, including “praying mantis,” “a spider of death” and a “freaking serpent.”“I like this guy. “But he’s -- I’ll tell you what he’s just -- he’s different now, he’s a different athlete.
mlive.comTraining camp observations: Lions’ Jared Goff heats up in red-zone drills, throws pick in 2-minute work
“Those guys that, under pressure, man, they’re cool and collective,” Campbell said before practice on Friday. Here are some more observations:-- The red-zone drills were more kind to Goff. Goff completed the sequence by throwing short touchdown passes to T.J. Hockenson and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Derrick Deese Jr., an undrafted rookie out of San Jose State, also caught three touchdown passes. But the Lions are using the early days of camp to get a lot of other guys reps too.

mlive.comDetroit Lions training camp preview: When will prized rookie WR Jameson Williams hit the field?
The rookie receiver even earned a 98-speed rating on Madden NFL 23 from EA Sports. We’re going to do this thing the right way, and when he’s ready, he’s ready,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said last month. He’s back after delivering the best rookie season by a receiver in franchise history. The former second-round receiver pick and Michigan standout looks to make his return to the league. Roster projection: WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR DJ Chark, WR Jameson Williams, WR Josh Reynolds, WR Kalif Raymond, WR Quintez Cephus, WR Trinity Benson, TE T.J. Hockenson, TE James Mitchell, TE Brock Wright
mlive.comLions OC Ben Johnson: It’ll be a challenge to integrate WR Jameson Williams into offense
And that will make it awfully hard to integrate the speedy wide receiver into the Detroit Lions offense. “Because you can’t really compare it to the Josh Reynolds situation from last year, which I would love to do. Not after projected starters like Tyrell Williams and Breshad Williams both flaming out before Week 2. We have a good mix of guys with size, guys with speed, we got smart players across the board. “That room looks really good right now.
mlive.comBreakout WR Amon-Ra St. Brown believes Detroit Lions have complete offense ahead of Year 2
ALLEN PARK -- Amon-Ra St. Brown was one of the top offensive rookies in the NFL last season. St. Brown had at least 10 targets in six consecutive games to end the year. I really do,” St. Brown said Wednesday afternoon from the team’s practice facility. He’s expected back after missing the season’s final five games, so it’ll be interesting to see how Hockenson meshes with the ultra-involved St. Brown. “I think we’re a very diverse group and can do a lot of different things,” St. Brown said.
mlive.com2022 NFL draft preview: Expect the Detroit Lions to use an early draft pick on star-studded receiver class
This is the first of a nine-part series previewing the Detroit Lions’ positional needs and priorities heading into the NFL draft, which is scheduled for April 28-30 in Las Vegas. “I told (my guys), ‘I’m trying to draft two and bring in one,’” Randle El said a few weeks ago. That’s a pretty good combination, and it helped propel Chark to a 1,000-yard season just two years ago. This is a historically good receiver class, with historically good speed by the way, and there are a whole bunch of guys ticketed for the back half of the first round. “I can play outside receiver, inside receiver and running back,” Burks said.
mlive.comNew Lions WR DJ Chark already getting in work with Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Reynolds
PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Amon-Ra St. Brown caught more passes than anyone else in the final month of last season. Throw DJ Chark into that mix, one of the biggest, fastest receivers to hit the open market, and hey, the Detroit Lions have a chance to be pretty good through the air next season. Just two weeks after Chark signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Lions in free agency, he flew out to California to get in some early reps with Goff, St. Brown and Reynolds. “He’s got legit speed, he’s got size, he’s got length, he’s got ball skills.”He does. But end of the day, we just felt really, really good at it.
mlive.comDetroit Lions re-signing QB David Blough too, while Jalen Reeves-Maybin leaves for Texans payday
The Detroit Lions are also re-signing quarterback David Blough, according to ESPN. Blough is the seventh player Detroit has re-signed in the last week, and the second quarterback, joining fellow backup Tim Boyle. That includes big extensions for safety Tracy Walker (three years, $25 million) and pass rusher Charles Harris (two years, $14 million). The only player Detroit has lost in free agency is Jalen Reeves-Maybin, a special teams standout who just agreed to a two-year deal with Houston that is worth $7.5 million and includes $5 million in guarantees. With Reeves-Maybin out in Detroit, the book is closed on the Lions’ 2017 draft class.
mlive.comCatching up with all the Detroit Lions’ comings and goings heading into free agency signing period
“We’re not just searching for one-year deal guys. Chark can sign his deal when the signing period opens at 4 p.m. today. But to this point, that one-year deal is the only agreement in place with an external player. Walker said not to get too hung up on Detroit bringing back so many players from a three-win team. Yeah, I feel like we’re on the come-up.”Here’s a look at where things stand heading into the signing period later today.
mlive.comWR Josh Reynolds says re-signing with Detroit Lions all about building on newfound opportunity
Josh Reynolds has been clear about what he’s been looking for since he landed in Detroit, and that’s opportunity. Reynolds requested his release from the Tennessee Titans, then was claimed by the Detroit Lions. He was reunited with quarterback Jared Goff and staring down a thin receiver room. Reynolds, Amon-Ra St. Brown and a returning Quintez Cephus highlight Detroit’s receiver room as things stand. You need somebody that’s going to come in and not miss a beat on offense.
mlive.comDetroit Lions sign wide receiver Josh Reynolds to 2-year contract extension
Josh Reynolds is getting a new deal with the Detroit Lions after impressing with the team during a seven-game run to end the season. Reynolds landed in Detroit after requesting his release from the Tennessee Titans. It’s definitely where I’d like to be.”The Lions haven’t been shy in their intentions to add to their receiver room. Reynolds should be happy to be back, and he checks one box heading into free agency around these parts. The Lions could be in a good spot come April, though, with Picks 32 and 34 looking ripe for a receiver.
mlive.comDetroit Lions free agency preview: Allen Robinson headlines a receiver class that is thinning out
This is the first of a seven-part series previewing the Detroit Lions’ positional needs heading into free agency. Green (Cardinals), DeSean Jackson (Raiders)Breakdown: Brad Holmes barely dipped his toes into the free-agent pool after taking over in Detroit last season. That’s what the Lions believe anyway, and they now appear poised to be players when free agency opens next week. The deadline for the franchise tag is today. After playing under the franchise tag last year, he is expected to hit free agency this season.
mlive.comAntwaan Randle El: Lions want to draft 2 receivers, sign another in pursuit of real playmaker
MOBILE, Ala. -- Nobody caught more passes than Amon-Ra St. Brown in the final month of the season. No one had more catches than Amon-Ra St. Brown in the final month of the season, period. The Lions still lack a true playmaker, a field-stretcher, a guy that can hurt defenses no matter what they try to do to him. And receivers coach Antwaan Randle El has been plain about that with his guys, because reinforcements are on their way. They know it and that’s part of the game.”The Lions are expected to target an edge rusher with the No.
mlive.comDetroit Lions 2021 review: Amon-Ra St. Brown’s historic rookie season was one of year’s biggest surprises
But nothing helped quite like the emergence of Amon-Ra St. Brown. General manager Brad Holmes went into the final day of the draft with St. Brown at the top of his wish list. Through the first half of the season, St. Brown was as-advertised. Dan Campbell also turned that defensive attention against Green Bay, dialing up a series of trick plays that hinged on St. Brown. Throw in a fourth-down touchdown catch, and it was quite the exclamation point on a historic rookie season.
mlive.comBrad Holmes calls trench play, running backs strengths for the Detroit Lions after Year 1
ALLEN PARK -- Brad Holmes feels pretty good about the state of play in the trenches and out of the running back room after his first season as Detroit Lions general manager. The Lions cycled through multiple undrafted rookies in the defensive backfield while injuries decimated those rooms. Heck, even Halapoulivaati Vaitai improved upon his disappointing debut season in Detroit, allowing no sacks across 953 snaps on the inside. In his first two games up on Sundays, Reynolds was the top-ranked running back by Pro Football Focus. He’s got a lot of stuff that he’s got to work on and he’s aware of it.

mlive.comPending free agent WR Josh Reynolds found opportunity in Detroit: ‘It’s definitely where I’d like to be’
ALLEN PARK -- Josh Reynolds never hid his intentions behind requesting his release from the Tennessee Titans, eventually landing with the then-winless Detroit Lions in early November. Now, the pending free agent wide receiver has one game left on the season, facing questions about his future once again. “I’d love to stick around, man,” Reynolds said on Friday. The Lions claimed Reynolds, reuniting him with his former starting quarterback and on the roster controlled by Brad Holmes.
