Officials say a man has fired gunshots at police and then barricaded himself inside a home in Mount Clemens. The man has fired multiple gunshots at officers from his garage, police say. He then fired more shots from his window.
Thomas Township officer found at-fault in two-vehicle crash
THOMAS TWP, MI — A Thomas Township police officer was involved in a two-vehicle crash, one he has been found at-fault for causing. The officer was not in pursuit of any other vehicle at the time, confirmed Thomas Township Police Chief Al Fong. The Cobalt was driven by a 20-year-old Saginaw woman. Saginaw County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the collision, with Undersheriff Mike Gomez saying the officer has been found to have been at fault. 8 hospitalized, dozens displaced in massive Mount Clemens apartment complex fire
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – Some tenants at the River North Village Apartments in Mount Clemens jumped from their balconies to escape a massive fire with heavy smoke and flames that crews worked for hours to put out overnight Sunday, a witness told Local 4 News. According to another witness, others jumped from a window to escape the fire at the apartment building on North River Road. Local 4 News reached out to the American Red Cross and Macomb County Sheriff’s Office to check on whether anyone was hurt or displaced. 27-year-old dies while ice fishing in Harrison Township
HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 27-year-old man died ice fishing Sunday near San Juan Street and North River Road, officials say. The victim and another man were ice fishing when the victim lost his cell phone in the water and went in to find it. He did not resurface and that is when emergency services responded. The victim’s body was found several hours later, according to police. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.
