Student reports sex assault by man on Oakland University’s campus, police say

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Officials notified the public Wednesday of a sexual assault reported on the campus of Oakland University. According to notice from the Oakland University Police Department, on Wednesday a female student reported that a male non-student sexually assaulted her on the campus at about 5 p.m. on November 13. The man reportedly assaulted the student in his vehicle in the P-5 parking lot on the northwest side of campus, police said. The Oakland County Police Department is asking people to familiarize themselves with what constitutes sexual assault and to “be vigilant in stopping it,” listing the following actionable steps:"Always seek consent. “If you feel your safety is at risk, or need assistance or an escort on campus, please contact the Oakland University Police Department .”More: Local News

Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena to host regional round of 2024 NCAA Tournament

DETROIT – Detroit will be one of four regional hosts for the 2024 NCAA men’s basketball tournament. It will be the third time Little Caesars Arena has hosted NCAA Tournament action. The arena hosted first- and second-round games in 2018 and will do the same for the 2021 tournament. ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University police are searching for a missing 25-year-old man with possible mental health issues who is currently homeless, was last seen on campus despite being banned and may have access to weapons, according to authorities. Alexander Walker, a former Oakland University student, was last seen Saturday on the university's East Campus. They said he might have access to weapons and could be a threat to himself or others, police said. Anyone who sees Walker on campus should not approach him but should call Oakland University police at 248-370-3331, police said.
