Mobile home fire forces Metro Detroit family to start over
BELLEVILLE, Mich. – A father and his two children lost everything early Saturday morning in a fire that tore through their mobile home community. It happened at the Rawsonville Woods Community in Belleville, near Rawsonville and Willow Roads. “At 3 something in the morning, we hear a loud knock and it was the officers telling us that the house next door is on fire,” said Jose Rivera. That’s what Jose Rivera said they woke up to early Saturday morning. “We lost our cell phones, wallets -- everything was in the house,” Rivera said.
Police investigate multiple vehicle, semi truck crash in Ypsilanti Township
YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a multiple-vehicle crash involving four cars and a semi truck on Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, at about 1:30 p.m. the traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Rawsonville and Textile roads in Ypsilanti Township. Officials say individuals involved sustained serious injuries, though the full extent of the injuries has not been released. So far no deaths have been reported in connection with this crash. The intersection was initially closed for further investigation and has since reopened.
Police: Intoxicated driver shoots at person trying to help after crash in Washtenaw County
AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. An intoxicated driver shot at a person trying to help after a crash Thursday in Washtenaw County, police said. According to police, the man crashed his vehicle on Rawsonville Road, south of Bemis Road, in Augusta Township about 4:45 p.m. When someone tried to help, the man fired shots and tried to flee on foot, police said. The man was taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
Ypsilanti Township man shot at during road rage incident
YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Authorities said a man was shot at Monday during a road rage incident in Ypsilanti Township. According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department, the 64-year-old man was driving in the area of E. Michigan Avenue and Rawsonville Road about 5:40 p.m. when the shots were fired.
