KANSAS CITY, Mo. Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman used an anti-gay slur on air during Cincinnati's game Wednesday night and later left the broadcast after apologizing. Brennaman used the slur moments after the Fox Sports Ohio feed returned from a commercial break before the top of the seventh inning in the first game of a doubleheader at Kansas City. Brennaman and the Reds announcers were working from Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, even though the doubleheader against the Royals was in Kansas City. The son of Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman, Thom has called major league games for 33 years and has been with Fox Sports for the past 27, covering primarily baseball and football.

Reds-Royals postponed due to COVID-19; doubleheader on deck
KANSAS CITY, Mo. The game between Cincinnati and Kansas City scheduled for Tuesday will be played as part of a doubleheader Wednesday so that the Reds can do additional testing after a player tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. The final two games of a series against Pittsburgh at Great American Ball Park were postponed, and the Reds were planning to fly into Kansas City early Tuesday. Now, the Reds and Royals will play both games of their two-game set Wednesday. The first game will start at 4:05 p.m. CDT, with the second game taking place after a 30-minute break.

DETROIT After a troubling opening day Friday, the Tigers offensive switch turned on Saturday. Cron getting the first run with an RBI double allowing the Tigers to get on the board first. With a game that couldve gone either way it was the top of the 9th that showed great adjustment for JaCoby Jones. Romine being able to lead off with a single it seemed the Tigers initial game plan was to play small ball and play it safe with a bunt. Jones sends it over the left field fence for a two-run home run to give the Tigers a 6-4 lead in the top of the 9th.
Tigers C.J. Cron continues to impress in 3-2 win against Cincinnati Reds
In this third round against the Reds, it was an impressive display of clutch hitting and impressive itching. Once again, the Tigers were able to strike first courtesy of a solo shot over the right center fence by Niko Goodrum. Spencer Turnbull was the starting pitcher for the Tigers and pitched five innings only allowing one earned run and got eight strikeouts. Cron would send a two-run home run over Nick Castellanos in right field putting the Tigers ahead 3-1. The Tigers would win the contest 3-2 and get the better hand of the series over the Reds winning 2 out of the 3 games.
