Washtenaw County deputies find body while executing search warrant

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – While serving a search warrant Saturday, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office located the body of a man wanted in connection with a Christmas Eve road rage shooting. ORIGINAL STORY: Washtenaw County deputies search for suspect in road rage shootingAccording to authorities, the road rage incident happened neat the intersection of Alber and Textile roads in Lodi Township at about 9:45 a.m. Deputies said the suspect fired gunshots, hitting the victim’s vehicle multiple times. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said they were able to identify a potential suspect through tips provided to authorities. Police said the deputies spent several hours attempting to make contact to serve a search warrant Saturday before discovering the 51-year-old man’s body inside the home. Police investigating armed robbery at Pittsfield Township Burger King

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday night at a Pittsfield Township Burger King. According to authorities, it happened at about 8:20 p.m. at the Burger King located near the intersection of Platt Road and Michigan Avenue. Police said employees told them they were held at gunpoint and forced to hand over money from the safe. The culprit fled from the location north through a lot and a witness observed the getaway vehicle free westbound on Textile Road. The suspected robber is described as a tall thin Black man wearing a blue coat, khaki pants and dress shoesAnyone with information is asked to contact the Pittsfield Township Police Department at 734-822-4958.

Teen driver crosses centerline, injures motorcyclist in Ypsilanti Township, police say

YSPILANTI TWP., MI – A motorcycle rider was injured in a crash late Thursday night. The motorcyclist was driving south on Rawsonville Road near Textile Road, just before 11 p.m. Nov. 5, when a 17-year-old female driving a car north crossed the centerline and hit the motorcyclist, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Derrick Jackson said. The 29-year-old male motorcyclist from Monroe had a severe leg injury, but was alert and conscious at the scene, Jackson said. The 17 year old from Ann Arbor was not injured, Jackson said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing and no arrests have been made or citations issued, Jackson said.

Police investigate multiple vehicle, semi truck crash in Ypsilanti Township

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a multiple-vehicle crash involving four cars and a semi truck on Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, at about 1:30 p.m. the traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Rawsonville and Textile roads in Ypsilanti Township. Officials say individuals involved sustained serious injuries, though the full extent of the injuries has not been released. So far no deaths have been reported in connection with this crash. The intersection was initially closed for further investigation and has since reopened.

Motorcyclist dies in Washtenaw County crash

A motorcyclist died Oct. 1, 2019 in a crash in Lodi Township. (WDIV)LODI TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A 75-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday when he crashed in Lodi Township. Officials said Charles Arquette, of Carleton, was riding north on Ann Arbor-Saline Road at Textile Road when he crashed about 12:05 p.m. Authorities said Arquette was the only person involved in the crash. The crash is under investigation.
