ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich. – A Hillsdale man has been arrested after an eight-hour standoff with police in Antrim County Thursday. According to report from WPBN, police received a complaint that a man, later identified as 42-year-old Kip Miller, was driving erratically in Emmet County and may have intentionally swerved into another vehicle. Investigators said four children were in the vehicle with Miller, who claimed that they were living out of his vehicle. A chase ensued through Emmet County into Antrim County. Miller is expected to face additional charges in Emmet County.

(WPBN)DETROIT - Drivers in Traverse City had a pretty sweet commute Thursday evening after a truck spilled nearly 1,000 pounds of corn syrup on South Airport Road. According to authorities, the truck driver claimed to have hit his brakes at a red light at about 6 p.m., causing the corn syrup to spill from the truck. WPBN reports Road Commission workers put sand down on the road, but it caused the syrup to harden to the concrete. Crews used power washers and vacuums to clean up the roads.

A Michigan dog who wandered away from home more than three months ago has been found safe. In March, Hazel wandered from her Traverse City home while her family was on vacation. WPBN reports the family began searching for the dog as soon as they returned. "The moment we saw her - she jumped in my husband's arms. Hazel had some cuts and had lost weight but will recover back to her normal dog self.
