Man in critical condition after assault on Detroit’s west side
DETROIT – Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to an assault that happened early Sunday morning. According to authorities, a 39-year-old man and a 29-year-old man had an argument inside a home located near the intersection of West McNichols Road and Le Salle Avenue when the 29-year-old picked up an object and struck the other man multiple times, injuring him before he left. The 39-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. Detroit fast-food workers join protests across US aimed at raising federal minimum wage
DETROIT – The battle over the minimum wage heated up Friday. A Fight for $15 rally took place at a McDonald’s near the intersection of Livernois Avenue and West McNichols Road on Detroit’s west side. They want the minimum wage to increase to $15 an hour. Demonstrators want the incoming Joe Biden administration to raise the federal minimum wage within Biden’s first 100 days of taking office. The federal minimum wage hasn’t been raised since July 2009.
Man injured in shooting near McNichols, Greenfield in Detroit
DETROIT – One man, listed in stable condition, was injured in a shooting Saturday night in the area of West McNichols and Greenfield roads, according to Detroit police. Police said the 39-year-old man was driving a gray Dodge Ram when someone inside a white truck fired shots. The victim drove himself to the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation.
